Once upon a time c'era

or there was a breakfront which was empty and sad and wasn't the least bit interested in its empty and sad existence since it knew that some day yours truly would eventually get around to filling it with wonderful stuff and as you can see there is a sack and a bag full of stuff right there in front of you while you read this post.
I've never had a grand love for elephants if they weren't really the pachidermi type which I adored at zoo. The elephants at the zoo with their long flexible snouts which easily stole a small bag of peanuts from a very young yours truly and made her understand that size is everything in life. But that's another story. The elephants on this shelf have real ivory tusks, are crossing a bridge and since they have been living on the empty and sad shelf have non longer had to be dusted! Already a love story since we all know how much dust is not a happy guest in our homes.

Anyhow, this particular shelf in the breakfront as I was saying happened to be empty or almost until I discovered a box in the garage in which there were 2 ceramic kittens which have been living with me almost as long as I have been living with myself. A wonderful Swiss clock which Nahmoe brought me from Chocolate-land ages ago and which for years and years when I was little actually kept time and ticked happily in my bedroom keeping me company. It too has been with me as long as I have been with myself. And if course one absolutely cannot be without an absidian Nefertiti head directly from Egypt. Again a gift from Nahmoe when she returned from one of her infinite voyages to somewhere. It too is part of the realm of stuff which has been with me as long as I have been with myself.

The breakfront shelf is not really crowded at all if you look at it from far away. So when I did see it from a distance even a rock studded picture frame fit. And as we all know it's useless to have an empty picture frame so in it I put a little photo of the man of my life. That sailor who moved me to the Tallahassee part of the Peninsula, had me learn another language and a new world in which there is not only a breakfront but also a Portico a Ponente(That's WESTERN portico folks) from which I have written many posts in this blog which you all probably haven't been able to read because they're in that other language that not everyone who comes to my blog can read. So to finish in glory, yours truly is now mother-tonguing (spelling please) her way into history for you all. The man in the photo has not been with me as long as I have been with myself but let's just say that he's been there since 1975 which was a century ago. Now that really sounds historical.

Which brings yours truly to the end of the story of the empty and sad shelf in the breakfront which is against the wall of the living room behind the Portico a Ponente from which yours truly writes lots of the posts which you all will happily read in your mother tongue. And just think, those of you who are not in mother tongue in this part can scroll down and read the part in that other language...how's that for talkin.
