OLIVE OIL SEASON - STAGIONE DELLE OLIVE

Our olive harvesting season always begins upside down...which means three of these steel drums which need to be washed with a special dry detergent which leaves no odors nor other nasty films on the inside. It also means leaving the drums upside down so that they dry really well...they then get topped with their own special twisty lids which have a large rubber gasket(which you can't wash cus it gets all bent out of shape) and that getting bent out of shape is pretty much what happens to my back when I've finished washing three 50liter steel drums which get taken to the mill for the new oil - and of course the 3 100 liter drums which you need to bend into the clean them...but that's another story. For now this one needs to leave the tub and head for the beach towel where it will keep its companion drum company whilst waiting to be carted downstairs...in a couple of days...they live in the hallway...and you gotta hope you remember that they're there when you get up at night, don't have your glasses on and head for a certain porcelain facility!
