River Watch - Il Fiume che Passa

There's Bay Watch. There's the Swatch Watch but there is really nothing more beautiful nor frightening than watching our largest river drink up all the water from the rain in the mountains, digest it in huge gulps and then spit it back out in a rolling roaring waterway which even experienced rafters wouldn't want to slide down on. The river itself isn' a real river. It is what is called here 'torrente'...sort of gives you all the idea right. Torrents of water which flood into it from bank to bank and literally cascade down from the mountains into the MED...who is really happy to get all that refill since it also brings down dirt, grass and anything else which is in i's path. Today I stopped a moment while I was returning from the shopping center mountain-side. There were several cars parked on the side of the road and the people who were watching had cameras. Yours truly didn't. So what else is new? How can I describe the power of water? Think of Niagra Falls flat out on a 200meter wide bed...white water which looks like enormous waves, roaring wet which flows at an awesome speed doing enormous sumersaults and handstands head over heels while it literally blows its way down to the SEA...M.Nature is astounding and I was very glad to be on a hill while watching.
