Flooding - Diluvio

I'm pretty sure that you all in the States got the news about the terrible flooding which literally has destroyed parts of Genoa and most of several villages in the CinqueTerre. In the CinqueTerre the flooding was several days ago. In Genoa yesterday. In less than 5 minutes 50cm of rain fell on the city and flooded the lowest areas. Seven people died in the ensuing disaster and the city and surrounding areas are offlimits for now. We fortunately did not even get the tail-end of the disaster since the storm which was supposed to hit all of Liguria actually made a wide turn around our mountains. They blessedly very often protect us from natural disasters. This evening we're expecting severe thunderstorms but a fairly consistent wind has been blowing from the South which could mean that the clouds will be moved away. Hope they don't head to Genoa!

BOH?
